2021 Lenten Calendar
Looking for daily ways to prepare for Lent? Check out the Our Saviour's 2021 Lenten Calendar HERE.
Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021
Two opportunities to observe Ash Wednesday:
If you would like ashes for the at-home worship service, pick up a packet of ashes to go on Feb 10 or 14 (February 10, 5:00-7:00pm or February 14, 9:00-11:00am, 1:00-3:00pm).
Walk Up Ashes and Prayer at 12:00-1:00pm at the Our Saviour's campus and 5:00-7:00pm at both campuses.
This will be offered as walk up or drive up options. Ashes will be marked on the hand if done by the pastor; individuals may also self-apply ashes on their forehead or hand. No registration is required. Please wear a mask and physically distance for any in-person opportunities listed below including ashes in your car.
Midweek Reflections: Longing To Be Back
Midweek worship will be shared through online weekly reflections on Wednesdays. The theme this year is Longing To Be Back. For the last year, we have longed to be back, whether it’s back at church, back with friends and family, or back to the connections that are important to us. During the season of Lent, we’ll explore the prophets who guided God’s people through time and space apart from their expectations. Each week will have a focus:
February 17 - Longing to be In God’s presence
February 24 - Longing to be Back
March 3 - Longing to be Loved
March 10 - Longing to be Made New
March 17 - Longing to be Reunited
March 24 - Longing to be Saved
Faithful Fellowship - Wednesdays during Lent
Each week, we’ll gather on Zoom for 30 minutes of devotion and fellowship. Focusing on the Scripture passage of the midweek reflection, we’ll lead a different devotional practice as we grow in faith together.
Two times offered: 12:00pm and 7:00pm
February 24: Pastor Emily - Visio Divina
March 3: Jean Jepson - Bible Doodling
March 10: Pastor John - Lectio Divina
March 17: Pastor Brian - Music Reflection
March 24: TBA
For Zoom links or questions, email Pastor Emily.
Prayer is a primary practice of the Christian church during Lent. Even while we are physically distant, we can gather together in prayer practice which is why we are introducing Prayer Partners.
You will be paired with another person for whom you’ll pray through the season of Lent (February 17-April 3) and you check in once a week or so via text, email, or phone call - whichever you prefer. Each week, we will send prayer prompts to all partners via email.
If you already have someone you’ve selected as a partner, list them on the sign up and we will simply send you prayer prompts throughout the season.
Please sign up by February 10 in order to be paired by February 17.
