Sometimes God builds bridges in unexpected places.

Following the fall of communism, Our Saviour's began partnering with the Center for Christian Education (CCE) in Martin, Slovakia. What started as support for a growing ministry has become something much deeper: a friendship rooted in faith.

For more than 25 years, our congregations have encouraged one another through prayer, hospitality, shared ministry, and cultural exchange. Rather than simply serving one another, we have grown together, discovering that God's work is often found in relationships that cross borders and generations.

The Center for Christian Education (CCE) in Martin, Slovakia, provides Christian education, leadership development, camps, community programs, and opportunities for children, youth, and families to grow in faith.

Our partnership with CCE continues to flourish because of the commitment of people in both countries who believe that relationships have the power to transform lives.

Each summer, this partnership comes to life in new and meaningful ways. 

In early summer 2026, a group of Our Saviour's high school students, mentors, and Pastor Brian and his family traveled to Slovakia to continue the exchange. Together they worshiped, served, explored the country, spent time with long-time friends and met new ones sure to be long-lasting, and experienced firsthand how God is at work through CCE's ministry.

Our Saviour's then welcomed five students from Slovakia for a month-long cultural exchange. Living with host families, they became part of everyday life at Our Savior's, helping with Vacation Bible School, serving during MEGA Garage Sale, participating in worship, youth ministry, mission activities, and community events. We missed them before they even left!

These exchanges are far more than mission trips. They are opportunities to listen, learn, serve, and discover that we belong to one another as members of Christ's global Church.

There are many ways to become part of the Slovakia Ministry.

• Pray for students, families, and ministry leaders.
