Pastor Brian Wise has served as Senior Pastor of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church since 2022.

Pastor Brian Wise (he, him) first joined the Our Saviour's community in August 2015 as Associate Pastor of Outreach. His previous call was as Associate Pastor at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL, and he also served as a coordinator in the Office of the Presiding Bishop for the ELCA Churchwide Offices. 

He graduated from Valparaiso University with a B.A. in Theology and a Minor in Music. He received his Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He recently graduated from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA, earning his Doctorate in Ministry, with a focus on pluralism and new religious movements.

Pastor Brian met the love of his life, Mandy, at Valparaiso University in a music theory class. Mandy is now an elementary school music teacher in Palatine. He proposed to her near home plate before a White Sox game…she said yes, and the Sox won that day, too! They also have three children, Wesley, Gia, and Wyatt, who love coming to church and connecting with their church family!

Pastor Brian reflects constantly on Jesus' life and ministry, surrounded by relationships, reconciliation, meeting people where they are, breaking down walls of injustice, and sharing God's love with everyone. He is thrilled to be called to Our Saviour's, a place working to reflect justice, love, and mercy in all they say and do.

Pastor Brian leads the Our Saviour's staff, the Celebration Children's Center Preschool, Local and Global Missions, and Benevolent Partners. He oversees the vision and direction of all the church's worship services to ensure a harmonious, impactful experience for the community.

Pastor Brian also encourages the congregation to engage in courageous conversations about racism and injustice and to grow as allies for all people. He is deeply committed to listening, learning, and practicing antiracism, and he stands with the LGBTQIA2S+ community while working to ensure that Our Saviour’s remains a welcoming and safe place for everyone.
