Refugee Coat Drive

Our Saviour's Refugee ministry is working with World Relief to gather and distribute new or gently used/clean winter coats, sizes from infant to adult.

Although the number of refugees admitted in 2020 is lower than normal, there are more Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) than in years past. SIVs are families who have helped the American Armed forces in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan who have had to flee for their lives.

World Relief was recently able to welcomed a new (SIV) Afghan family in Aurora – relatives of a family who arrived a few years ago. The families are so happy to be living in the same city again, even if their ability to meet together is limited due to COVID precautions given some family members’ health concerns. The family was greeted by a World Relief volunteer at the airport and provided with warm coats for the chilly October weather, a cell phone, and provisions for their new home! Your donation of a coat could help another family like this one.
