Bright Stars of Bethlehem

NEW: Join Tracie Ortman, executive director of Bright Stars of Bethlehem, for a special Dialogues in Faith presentation this Sunday, April 27, at 10:15 a.m. in the Advent Room. Providing insights into the realities of Palestinian life under occupation and powerful stories from Dar al-Kalima University students and families, this session will give participants a deeper connection to the people behind the headlines—and offer meaningful ways to support justice, dignity and education in Palestine.

Bright Stars of Bethlehem promotes and spreads the word about the many outreach ministries of Christian Lutheran Church in Bethlehem to build hope and a bright future for the people of Palestine. These ministries equip local community members to assume a proactive role in shaping a bright future. Bright Stars of Bethlehem sponsors authentic tours of the Holy Land throughout the year.

Bright Stars' mission is to raise awareness and support for Dar al-Kalima University, the first and only university of arts and culture in all of Palestine. The education that the students receive at the university gives them employment opportunities in a region with high unemployment. This helps to achieve the vision for the people of Palestine to have life in abundance.

Volunteers are needed at Our Saviour's throughout the year to host, promote and attend events. Events in the past have included an art exhibit, a culinary benefit, a jazz concert and a book tour.
