ira distributions

New tax-laws offer significant benefits for donors who contribute to 501(c)3 organizations such as Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.

Have you ever considered contributing directly from your IRA? IRA holders age 70.5 or older can gift up to $100,000 per year from their IRA to charity, tax-free, with a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). This commitment also counts toward your minimum required distribution amount for the year, and the total gift is excluded from your adjusted gross income.

Even required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your IRA can be gifted. Gifting your RMD directly to the Church can offer you substantial tax savings and make a big impact on our community!

To make a qualified charitable distribution to Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, submit a distribution request to your IRA custodian, asking that the money be transferred directly to us. If a check is issued, the check should be made payable to Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Legal name: Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Naperville

Federal Tax ID Number: 36-2684454

Address: 815 S Washington St, Naperville, IL 60540

Please note that in order for your gift to be tax-free, the money must go directly from your IRA to the Church. If you first receive the distribution and then send the money to Our Saviour’s, you must recognize the distribution as income.

As you reflect on the importance of our church community and the impact it has had on your personal and spiritual lives, please consider how you can potentially support this vital initiative. Remember – the commitment can be made tax-free!

Please contact your financial adviser or the church accounting manager with any questions.
